Fall Semester 2018

I know I know it’s been forever since I posted. I apologize for not being consistent with this but I want to try to post more on here within the next year.

Starting off I want to talk about my past school semester. I am currently a senior but I have 3 semesters left and I will officially be a teacher! For the Fall semester of 2018 I was enrolled in 5 courses, two of which were online and the other three were in person. Two of my courses were required for my major and were my toughest courses this semester. One of these courses was a phonics course and the other was a social and psychological course.

For my phonics course, we had to take a test at the end of the semester and if we did not get an 85% on the test we did not pass the course. That was extremely stressful because every Education course that we have to take we need to get a C in. At the end of the semester I ended up getting a 100 on the test which was exciting.

Then, for my other education course, the professor was very tough and the assignments were very vigorous. The grading scale was, also, different than the rest of our courses. My college has a grading scale of 10 pints while this class was on an 8 point grading scale. The most exciting point of this course was we got to go into the schools and observe. The class that I was in was truly amazing and I already miss them.

Overall, I got four As this semester and one B. I am very proud of the grades that I got this semester and am excited to go into the schools more next semester.

Adding A Minor?

Hey y’all!

Like I said in my last post I’ve been thinking about adding a minor. Since I need a certain amount of credit hours per year to keep scholarships and from Fall semester forward I will most likely be under that amount I was looking to add a minor so I could keep my scholarships.

There are so many things that I am interested in that I would love to have a minor in and I just can’t decide! I’ve been thinking about getting one in Economics, Family and Consumer Sciences with a Consumer Economics Emphasis, Nutrition, or possibly getting an endorsement for PreK-K.

If y’all have any information on which would be the best I would love to hear it!

SPRING BREAK!!!!

Hey y’all!

Its been a good week! Today marks the start of my spring break! Cheers to having a week off from school 🙂
Throughout this week a lot has happened. I decided not to run today in who knows how long. I have been running for about an hour at 7.0 or 7.2 mph each day for the longest time and my knee is starting to feel it. I don’t like to mention it a lot but I have an eating disorder so this controls the way I think a lot and how I see myself. I ate quite a bit today but I don’t want to end up injuring myself too much.

But in good news, I have received an email on Wednesday stating that I received the job that I have wanted at school. Next school year I will be a Resident Assistant which means I will be creating a positive environment for the residents while they are on campus. This will cover both my room and board and I could not be more excited!!! Additionally, a while back I applied for scholarships within my department, education majors. Today I found out that I received one of them!!! I can’t believe how lucky I have been this week. I am truly blessed.

Additionally, I have been thinking about getting a minor! What are your thoughts?

Hey Y’all!

Yesterday was a good day for me! So if I haven’t mentioned it in a blog before I do have a job while I go to school. My job is to give tours to potential college students and provide them with information they will need to know. Within my job I have my actual boss and the president of the Student Ambassadors Association above me.

Throughout Fall semester and this semester I have taken tours for people even when they have cancelled last minute. It has gotten to the point where people will individually text me and ask if I would take their tour.

But the main point of this post is that the Student Ambassador president texted myself and two other people saying that she and our boss had chosen us to give tours to potential provosts of the university. There are four tours for these potential candidates and they gave me not one but TWO tours. I am completely honored and nervous because they have chosen me to represent the school for these situations because I was the best tour guide during that given time. My hard work has clearly been seen by my bosses.

Why I Don’t Make Youtube Videos Even Though I Have Always Wanted To

Hey y’all!

As I am writing this I am laying on my couch with my pups surrounding me. It is nice to have a break from school and to be able to come home whenever I want to. I thought that since I actually have a bit of time I would write a blog post.

So as you may be able to tell from the title I have always wanted to film Youtube videos. It has always been something that I have been interested in it. I have been wanting to share stories, film car vlogs, and possibly do makeup tutorials and post them. But overall I don’t film videos. I do have two videos on my channel but they are for one of my classes. As I filmed even these videos, I have felt so awkward. If you ever watch those videos (which hopefully you don’t haha) you would be able to tell how awkward I am. I want to be able feel comfortable filming videos and posting them but I feel like no one would watch them and I would be wasting my time.

So that is the end of my story for today.

Day In My Life College Edition

Hey y’all!

Today is gonna be a day in my life post. It was one of those days that were not a part of my normal routines.

Today I woke up around 8 am and proceeded to eat breakfast and enjoy my morning coffee (because all college kids need coffee hehe). Then, I proceeded to go to my 9:35 class which is a fitness class. On Thursdays, we go to the gym and have to workout for at least 45 minutes. On a normal day, I wake up at about 6 am and head to the gym.

After I finished my workout, I came back to my dorm, showered and got ready for the day. This meant showering and putting my makeup on for the day. I, then, met with my advisor to discuss details of my next few years here so I could figure everything out.

Now, normally at 1:50 pm I would be attending my math class but today was different. For my art education class, I had to go and observe an art educator for the day so I went to a primary school from 12:30 pm to 3:30 pm to complete that today. The students and the teachers were so nice and reminded me why I wanted to become a teacher. Then, I came back to my dorm and eventually ate dinner. Since then, I have been working on school, doing abs, and completing homework.
